Houston Criminal Lawyer & DWI Attorney – Collin Evans

houston dwi lawyer and expungement attorney

Collin Evans was born and raised in Texas.  He attended The University of Texas where he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Red McCombs School of Business.  After graduating, Collin worked in the Intellectual Property division at Fulbright & Jaworski assisting with patent prosecution.  Before entering into law school, Collin trained in Muay Thai, Krav Maga, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which instilled a sense of discipline and strong work ethic that he has carried over into his law practice.  He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law.  In law school, Collin traveled as an advocate with Mock Trial teams for one of only three schools in the nation consistently ranked in the top 10 for trial advocacy.  He also clerked for Justice Terry Jennings at the First Court of Appeals and at the criminal defense law firm of Stradley, Chernoff & Alford for two years. After law school, the criminal defense firm hired Collin as their associate attorney.  After the senior lawyers ended their partnership, Collin decided to open his own law firm.

Since starting his own criminal defense firm, Collin has used his extensive training to help clients through the reality of the criminal justice system, the pitfalls to avoid, and how to navigate through what, for many, seems like uncharted waters. He is passionate about his clients’ cases and seeks to obtain a dismissal for every person that chooses him to represent them.  With over a decade of experience, Collin knows what it takes to make charges go away and help people move on with their lives.

Collin has helped clients through difficult situations from initial investigations to high profile cases that garner intense media attention. As a member of the defense team that represented Dr. Conrad Murray in the involuntary manslaughter charge for the death of Michael Jackson, Collin experienced the intensity that the worldwide media can put on a highly publicized criminal defense case and knows how to handle these types of cases with professionalism and integrity. Other notable cases Collin assisted with include a client accused of hacking into a school district’s computer system, a client accused of shooting at police officers, a client charged with murdering his neighbor, and multiple clients accused of fighting with the police.

Collin continually works to be prepared for every client’s situation.  He is an active member of The College of State Bar Texas, National College for DUI Defense, DUI Defense Lawyer’s Association, and multiple defense lawyer associations around the Houston area.  He is certified as a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Practitioner.  He has been recognized as a Texas Lawyer Rising Star for five straight years.  He is Avvo rated at a 10.0 as “Superb.”  He has been nominated as one of Houston’s Top Lawyers and has received the Avvo Client’s Choice Award every year since starting his own firm in 2012.

Collin has a proven record of fighting against the government by taking cases to trial. He also has a proven record of obtaining dismissals in a wide range of felony and misdemeanor cases, including DWI, possession of drugs, assault and theft charges.
